Account executive

REBM is seeking an Account Executive with a strong accounting foundation, a passion for music, and an exceptional work ethic to join our dynamic team. Location: Los Angeles, Denver, or Nashville


Role Overview

The Account Executive serves as support for our Account Managers, Business Managers, and Partners ensuring smooth operations and exceptional client service. This role comes with management responsibility overseeing a team of Associates.

  • Review work of bookkeepers and approvals (AP/AR, cash receipt and journal entry coding, general ledger, payroll, and financial statement review)
  • Maintaining banking and income checklist
  • Onboard new clients, set up new vendors and General Ledger codes in the accounting system
  • Record opening trial balance as journal entries, prepare, and reconcile bank statements.
  • Record purchase or refinance of client's automobiles/residence.
  • Maintain cash flow and reporting requests for clients.
  • Updating weekly balances, understanding which accounts we monitor and why
  • Credit Card/Road Cash reconciliations and journal entries 
  • Monitor credit card activity, fraud alerts, and credit score issues
  • Supervise, mentor, and coach the accounting staff.
  • Experience with handling robust books, and preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements.
  • Book and process client payroll on a recurring basis.
  • Monitor insurance renewals and claims
  • Tour Merchandise and Royalty trackers
  • Maintaining and data entry in Personal Expense Worksheets
  • Update tour tracking system
  • Basic Tax Prep and other tasks specifically associated with accounting in the music industry
  • Tracking bill backs to labels
  • Generating commission statements
  • W2/1099 Processing
  • Special projects and data entry/filing to document software


Qualifications

  • Background with accounting education or experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Familiarity with the music, entertainment, or finance industry is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • A general understanding of the music and entertainment industry is helpful but not required

This is an exempt position. Employee compensation is determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, employee education/training/credentials, employee work experience, work location (including if the employee will be hybrid or fully in-office), and market considerations. 


The expected base compensation hiring range for this position is as follows: 

Expected range: $73,000-$90,000 annually
